ANIZDA Seeks Proposals for Community Event at PPL Center

The lease between the operator of PPL Center and the Allentown Neighborhood Improvement Zone Development Authority (ANIZDA) provides for up to five rent-free Community Events to be held in the arena each lease year, subject to availability as determined by the operator.

These events are to be non-commercial uses of the arena such as graduations and other non-income producing civic, cultural, and community events scheduled so as not to conflict with dates booked by the operator for paying events at PPL Center. Although rent-free, the organizers of Community Events designated by ANIZDA are responsible for event expenses incurred by the arena operator such as the cost of event personnel, set-up and take-down personnel, security, utilities, etc.

ANIZDA is seeking proposals for organizers of Community Events to be held at PPL Center during the next Lease Year through August 31, 2024. Proposals should contain the following information:

  • Sponsoring organization name
  • Contact name, phone number, and email address
  • Sponsoring organization mission
  • Description of the event
  • Date requested
  • Estimated attendance

Proposals should be addressed to Steve Bamford, Executive Director, and should be mailed to ANIZDA, 5 N. Front Street, Allentown, PA 18102 and emailed to info@allentownniz.com. Proposals must be received on or before September 15, 2023. Questions may be directed to the Executive Director at (610) 467-8810.

ANIZDA will review each proposal, request further information as needed, and exercise sole discretion in deciding what, if any, Community Event will be selected.
